Our local school
Our benefice includes Great Witchingham Primary School and Lyng Church of England Primary School. Assemblies are regularly taken by Rev'd Helen. Once a fortnight the Open the Book team (consisting of a team of parishioners) visit Great Witchingham to act out Bible stories for the children during assemblies.
Services for children
Over the coming months we will be holding Café churches in Great Witchingham Village Hall. These are a wonderful time for all ages to join together for afternoon tea, crafting, children's games and activities as well as music and reflection. Everyone is welcome.

Messy Church is for children with their families and carers. We meet on the 3rd or 4th Thursday of most months, at 3.30pm, in St Michael’s, Reepham.
After a drink and biscuit, we have an hour of crafts and activities based on the theme for the day, followed by a lively time of celebration in St Mary’s, with songs, a story often involving puppets, and prayer. We then all return to St Michael’s for a cooked meal together, with time to chat and make new friends.
Families are invited to return to our churches to celebrate anniversaries of baptism. During whichever is the appropriate Sunday morning service, we ask the family to join the priest at the font; the whole congregation renew their baptismal promises together, and we re-light the baptismal candles that the children have (hopefully) brought with them. In this way, children have the opportunity to understand a little about what happened when they were baptised as babies, and the families are encouraged to stay in touch with the people and what goes on in church.
